A Great Slideshow Module!
This slideshow module is full of excellent features and is very reliable. It is not as difficult as indicated by the other reviews. It does require some problem solving ability and attention to detail but it can be done. The tutorial is more than adequate and, if precisely followed, will lead you to a great slideshow.

Frustrating
I really want to like this project. The sample slideshows are exactly what I'm looking for. After many attempts I finally gave up on the standalone module. When I saw a views slideshow plugin was available I had to give it one more try. Next time I'll just club myself on the head with a nail-studded 2x4.

Steep learning curve
If you want to use this module, be prepared to devote several hours to figuring out how to install and use it. Also, be aware that although the developer showcases a very nice tabbed slideshow on his personal website, it is not possible to create that slideshow with this module, unless you want to try to rewrite the templates and the views. For now, I've settled on using Views Slideshow, which is a breeze to set up.

Awful documentation
Worst Module Ever
It's true that the instructions of the module are bad... but they are also very very long!
You'll spend a lot of time working on it thinking "we'll i'm not a newbie, so i'll get it"
You wont.
The instructions pages on drupal.org are incomplete and appear to be the ramblings of someone who hasn't slept for several days.
Half the time they don't even tell you what to do with certain files, they just mention they exist (e.g. the template.php file, tells you how to edit some code in ne, but then not where that code should go.)
This is why Open Source can be a very bad solution. Poor Execution and no quality control.

Module Hieroglyphics
Inscrutable. The installation process was like being in a Drupal version of the DaVinci Code.
