Core for D8 please!

User protect covers the basic dangers of deletion/password change of UID1 but (other than protect critical users) also allows protection settings for any other user or role. Moreover you can decide which edits should be allowed or deny edits all together on protected users' accounts.

This module allows to grant other users the administer user permission without the fear that those users take over your site or create havoc on important user accounts.

In addition it provides another useful feature to create administrator bypasses. Awesome!

The UI is a little bit confusing and the handy documentation could be more user-friendly. Therefore I only grant 4 points in those categories.

Definitely should be in core

It is so easy for someone with "administer users" permission to accidentally delete the super user (uid=1) without this module... Hopefully this will be fixed in the Drupal core at some point, but until then, use this great module! Not only can your protect uid=1, but you can protect whatever other users you would like along with specifying what fields cannot be changed by those users (e.g. username/password/email).

Thanks for the contribution!
