The taxonomy_image module allows site administrators to associate images with taxonomy terms. Im using this on my wine site to display images of wine bottles based on taxonomy terms and it works to perfection. It could make a case for a core module at some point.
It is very good module because a lot of people have visual memory and this little add-on helps for sites user to orientate in the sites taxonomy.
It is a great feature, but may be it could be better. I think that the image could be displayed in background of the node or like some kind of watermark for node.
