It does what it says what more can you ask for. I get subscribers my subscribers get my newsletter. I'm not sure if you can do html issues I haven't tried it yet but for a simple newsletter it can't be beet. Thank you,

Can't be much simpler than this. Although I wish that line breaks in the plain text we carried through in the emails. Not sure why it doesn't work. Looks like you need MIME mail if you want better formatting.
This is a great module that provides all the necessary functionality to handle a simple newsletter. You can import email addresses, send text / html emails, and it allows users to unsubscribe from the list very easily.
I was able to import over 1,500 emails and send my first newsletter within 10 minutes.
Unfortunately it doesn't allow you to personalize the emails much (and you can't capture the names of anonymous users that sign up), but it does everything else extremely well.
There is also the simplenews scheduler newsletter module which compliments this module so you can (re)send a newsletter according to a schedule.
Simplenews also works good with the htmlmail and mimemail modules, a great recipe is to use insert_views so you can insert a view into a newsletter
Simplenews is great for quickly putting together simple newsletters quickly. For advanced newsletter functionality check out the phplist Integration Module.
The name says it all Simple News. If you're looking for a more full featured, robust newsletter option, this isn't it. But it's the one Drupal-native option at this point and it gets the job done.
