Hmm... no

Based on the one glowing review, this module sounded very promising because the default aggregator module in core just isn't that flexible. For example you want 'dupe checking', item suppression and to be able to rearrange the order of items.

So I installed simplefeed and battled with it for a couple of hours. Apparently, this feature:

"auto-taxonomy, automatically add categories in feeds to Drupal's taxonomy system"

is not working for me. It seems like it should, in that you create a taxonomy and allow categorization of both feed and feed items, then go to simplefeed settings and enable that taxonomy for feeds. The option simply does not work with the version i used. (I'm using 6.x-1.x-dev, oct 15th. ) I've tried several times and this is kind of a big deal breaker for using this as it is something that does work in core just fine.

Also, when you view a feed as a node, there is a link to view feed items that takes you to a 404 page. I like the interface but the features behind it do not work as expected.

Utterly ingenious!

This fantastic module is becoming one of my favorites. Easy to use, easy to understand and configure. Comes with some advanced statistics features. This module, in combination with Views, Poormanscron, and a few others, will bring traffic to your site like there is no tomorrow. My hat is off to the developer!
