Relate profile field categories to particular roles, instead of all fields being related to all roles. I can't review this module for Drupal 6 as I've never tried it - it's probably pretty great. However, for Drupal 7, it seems someone ported it to Drupal 7, even though it makes use of the deprecated "profile" core module of Drupal. Yes, the module will enable the "profile" module, but I had some errors when trying to install it that made me have to revert to a prior version of my DB. I wouldn't consider this a good long term solution for Drupal 7.
