Module Overview

Drupal.org Excerpt:

Nice Menus enables drop-down/right/left expandable menus. It uses only CSS for most browsers, with minimal Javascript for IE6. (Version 2 uses the Superfish jQuery plugin for all browsers, with an option to disable JS, and falls back to CSS-only for browsers that can handle it.) Three styles/types of... [More...]

Really nice , easy to implement with css knowledge

Implemented nice with just changing the css, it is really easy to implement. We can include the nice menu in left, right , header part of the theme using blocks.

It took me just hours to implement it in header part. I just changed the css of the nice menu, it worked out well.

I was looking menu like this, it is well suited my requirement. Really Nice.

Great module for menus

I have just spent over a week working on a nice menu for a client. All the problems I had were really to do with css and although the module does come with some styling to get you started, this is really quite limited.

Overall, this is a good solution for those of you wanting a suckerfish style menu for their website. The new version offers more powerful styling options, although the documentation probably needs updating to reflect those changes. Some patches are also necessary as some of the bundled stylesheets are designed for the old version still.

Perhaps the ability to add spacers between the main navigation might be useful but all in all this is a pretty good module and I don't know how I would have implemented this solution without it. It also seems to be fairly active on the maintenance side to.

Not good

The CSS is all scattered around in different files, and it's impossible to figure out the CSS item names to customize the appearance. I would highly recommend Superfish as an alternative. (I am not affiliated with either module.)

A Bear to Theme

I eventually got this module to do what I needed, and it's been working perfectly for me ever since.

However, I have two complaints, one small and one big. The small one: the top-level menu item is clickable, with no easy way to disable it, so you must link it to some node or other.

The big one: if you need to modify the way it displays - width, background, height, etc. - it's extremely time-consuming, because the CSS is poorly set up and documented.

its require some effort

yes its required some CSS for menus, its hard to use.

Very hard to use if you do not know CSS!

A EXTREMELY good knowledge of CSS is required for this one!

Very good if you know CSS

It took me quite a while to get my head around this, however if you know your CSS, once you've installed it on one site it's fairly straightforward doing it again on other sites. Not easy to figure out at first, but a very handy module now that I know what I'm doing with it.

Not Impressed

I gave this module a shot in hopes that it would make creating drop down menus easier as it seems that a lot of clients are looking for this feature these days. Personally, I find coding the drop downs by hand much easier. This module might work if you give it some time, but frankly, if you know the code behind doing it by hand, it seems much easier. However, if you are not a coder, you might be able to get this module to fulfill your needs with a bit of work. I do think that drop down menus for Drupal should be made easier, so this module might be in need of some development work.

pretty good for what it is

i'll give it that.
but if i select down menus, then it bunches as many main headings in one line as possible rather than listing all the main headings on a separate line. sounds confusing i know, and maybe i'm no good at this but buggered if i could find doco's to work it out.
