I like this module, and I asked for the additional feature of a copy of email sent to me, and it was added. Great feedback.
This module met my needs well. The admin forms are well written and include the needed info, and allow me to turn off lots of things that might confuse my user. Another poster mentioned tokens, I prefer this simpler approach with lots of bcc'ed targets in a single email.
I "hacked" it a bit to add some more dynamic (non-role) groups like "Officers", "Members about to expire", etc. Was easy to follow the code even though I'm no php/drupal guru.
This is a bit mind-boggling that this wouldn't use tokens. So all emails are generic, with no customization with the recipients user name, etc.
The module works well otherwise, just missing a rather important piece of functionality.
Well thought out module. I like the way you can select who to mail by role. The html only issue that someone reported has been fixed on my version. There are a few little bugs still where things don't quite work as you expect.
Ok, haven't tried eveything in this module. I just needed something quick to send an email to all my registered users and this module enabled me to do just that.

The problem with this module is that if you are sending HTML mail, it is sent as HTML only. Many users do not accept HTML formatted email, so they see an empty message.
It would be better if this module would send BOTH a plain text AND HTML formatted version so down-level mail clients could read it.
I would not recommend you use this module unless you are sending plaintext only messages.
