Awesome, groundbreaking, views-esque

This module and its supporting module (vd,nd etc.)are super-useful tools for creating individual designed websites without the need to create custom templates. You can control the display of your nodes per type and built-mode, add custom css easily, use fields as blocks and so much more. USE IT!

The only not so perfect aspects are the good yet not perfect UI/workflow. In addition the module is very well documented but again certain aspects are missing/not easy to find.

Great for custom node layouts

I'm using this module to create custom Ubercart product pages on an engraving website. It's helpful for our customers to see examples of what they can have - so we created a gallery using views. In the past we had a CCK field to provide a link to a Views gallery. Now we can have the gallery displayed in the node, eg if a customer looks at a shield trophy they also see what other people have had. To get the gallery where we wanted it without DS would require some funky php magic to supply an argument to a Views block.

Display suite doesn't handle multiple product images nicely. To get around that we also installed Gallery Formatter http://drupalmodules.com/module/gallery-... this module is superior to the default ubercart image display - and would be equally useful for other node types such as blogs and articles.

I haven't read any of the documentation. But I found out about this module through two tutorial podcasts from Mustardseed Media:-

Watch both of them and you'll quickly get up to speed with this awesome module.

Great Module - would not design a site without it!

There is no other Drupal module that has saved me more time and frustrations (well maybe only second to Views). This module is a dream come true for those of us who need to have our content displayed the way we want it. If you are fussy about content display, or have a very fussy client this module is for you. It does take time to learn how to use it, but this is the way to theme in Drupal.
Thanks for this GREAT module.

Productivity just went up!

This is an amazing module. It needs to be in Drupal core!! This has saved so much time and effort. My only complaint is that the "Field Exclude" checkboxes are counter-intuitive -- I would have expected you should "include" instead. Other than this, this is truly an amazing piece of development!

i can't bleave something like this exist

it's more than perfect , i think this is the future of drupal themes.

it will take the factor of experiences down so normal designers will be able to do all the advanced tricks in drupal theming in no time

also i loved the compatibility with other modules like taps .

in my company there is 4 designers i was only one who is developing drupal themes now after i teached them now all of us doing drupal theming.

i think i cannot be fair with this module even if writing a book for it

if there is rating 10 of 5 i would give it to display suite
