Module Overview

Drupal.org Excerpt:

DHTML Menu uses Javascript to reduce the number of page loads when using nested menus; this is particularly useful with Drupal's administration system. Ordinarily in Drupal, in order to see the sub-items in a menu, you need to click the link of this item and wait for a full page load. After enabling... [More...]

This should be a core module

Menus are the most important part of a website, this makes everything easier to access, not just for admin menu, but any menu.

Simple.... and great!

This module really does not need any settings. Install it and it works. Really the easiest way for an administrator to navigate on a Drupal site...

Makes navigation waaay faster

This module has worked really fine for me:
* It makes navigation through the admin pages extremely faster by not requiring a reload of every page to get to where I want.
* It makes my visitors get faster to where they want by skipping a lot of intermediate pages that they don't want.

It took me about 10-20 minutes to figure out how this module works. It has also proven to work with other themes flawlessly (especially heacy testing with Zen theme).

Parent menu items aren't linkable

The parent menu item of any menu isn't linkable (clicking on it doesn't take you to the node under the parent item). I know this is by design and the parent can be double-clicked (or have a link at the top of the menu), but it seems a bit counter-intuitive to most. I might try to hack the Javascript, but I probably won't. Not certain what my client wants yet...

bug report Bookmarks/DHTML menu

Bug Report:
The newest update for the DHTML menu module broke my entire Drupal site if I had the bookmarks module enabled, and it was set as block. If I removed the bookmarks block, it showed just fine.

Easy fix

I got captivated with the idea of an admin menu and tried Admin Menu and SuperNav. I ended up just downloading this module and uninstalling the others after playing with them. All this does is make your existing menus work BETTER. It was enough for me, without adding any more clutter to my work environment.

Simple timesaver

Don't let the simplicity of this module fool you. It has saved me countless clicks going through the admin areas and also helps to keep my menus looking neat and compact but quick to expand when I need them. It's not just for the admin area.
