Author's response . . .
(Since this is my module, and I'm not really rating it, but responding to another review, I set all the rating values to three. For my specific needs, they are all four or five. I don't claim to be perfect.)
According to pillarsdotnet:
"I tried this module once but abandoned it after I determined that it doesn't really integrate Drupal with Courier-MTA."
It doesn't claim to integrate Drupal with Courier MTA. It claims to give "...administrators and/or users the ability of managing e-mail accounts on a Courier mail server through a Druapl website." (from the project's home page). If you're going to mark down a module for something it doesn't do and doesn't claim to do, then you will have to give every module on d.o a one, because none of them do everything.
Also according to pillarsdotnet:
"All it does is replace part of the web-based administration that comes with Courier with a Drupal-integrated form that does the same thing."
First, the web-based administration that comes with Courier is really restrictive as to how and when it can be run. Because of that reason, the Courier web-based administration is not practical in many situations. This module does help overcome those limitations. Second, you can't create Drupal user accounts with the Courier web-based administration form. The Courier MTA module allows you to create both a Drupal user account and a Courier e-mail account simultaneously. So it doesn't just replace part of the web-based administration that comes with Courier -- it adds value that the Courier web-based administration doesn't even provide.
Again, according to pillarsdotnet:
"Also, the project has no Drupal-6 compatible version, so if you need its features, you're stuck with Drupal-5."
There is a Drupal 6 compatible version in the works. I haven't released it, because it's not yet at a point where I consider it ready for use. For the site I use the Courier-MTA module on, I have a dependency chain which relies on other modules that I am trying to get ported to Drupal 6.
You wouldn't know any of the things I mentioned, however, because you never bothered to either contact me or create an issue asking what is going on. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you start making blanket accusations. If you just want to promote your module, find another way besides attacking other people's modules.
Also, if the documentation doesn't answer your questions, you could mention it and maybe that would be the impetus for improving it so that the module was more helpful for you or at least the documentation would give you what you needed up front.

No integration, no upgrade path.
I tried this module once but abandoned it after I determined that it doesn't really integrate Drupal with Courier-MTA. All it does is replace part of the web-based administration that comes with Courier with a Drupal-integrated form that does the same thing.
Also, the project has no Drupal-6 compatible version, so if you need its features, you're stuck with Drupal-5.
If you want to automatically provide Courier-based mail accounts for your Drupal-6 users, please consider the Cryptpw module instead.
