Elegant and solid, though difficult to theme

I've been using this nice little module on two production sites for a couple of months now and have no major complaints. It just works, right out of the box. As a design tool, it allows me to devote a lot less screen real-estate to the user login and the personalized "Welcome" message that appears once a user has logged in is a nice touch.

Just two complaints. First, it uses thickbox, which seems to me to be getting a bit old and clunky. It would be nice to have the option of using lightbox2, which I use everywhere else on my site. Second, the block for this module is hard to theme. I wanted my login all on a single line in my footer (or header on my other site) rather than in a sidebar. To do this, though, I had to actually go into the .module file and remove a br tag. My suggestion would be that the maintainers remove that hard-coded line break and replace it with pure css styling. That way users could change the layout just by overriding the css. Even better would be a built-in option to switch from "sidebar" layout to "single line" layout.

There's not much documentation of this module, but that's not a big deal since it is so simple to implement. Just install it, activate it, and place the block. Very sweet.
