This is one of the modules I evaluated while building the new Module Finder feature here on Drupal Modules. I found it very easy to set up basic AHAH effects on regular form elements, but couldn't find a simple way to include those effects on non-form elements like pager links. It also didn't seem to work on multi-option checkbox groups, but I may have overlooked something.
If you need a simple way to update forms automatically when a dropdown box changes, this module will help you do it with little effort. If you want a more comprehensive feature set, I recommend learning how to use jQuery directly.
