This module is a little helper to maintain an administrator role which has all available permissions. By default, Drupal only has one super user and this module helps improve this drastically. really happy this will be part of Core in D7, makes life easier beyond belief
Drupal has an admin user--but no admin role out-of-the-box.
Keeping track of and assigning every permission as new modules are added is a headache. Having an admin role that can ge assigned to users in indispensable.
It's one of the modules I install right away, every install.
This is a great tool to quickly give full permissions to a certain user-group. It does not pre-populate and give permissions to already-installed modules. However, any new module installed will automatically add full permissions to a certain user group. If you install it right as you begin your website, it is a valuable tool.
This module takes care of a pet peeve of mine -- that administrators aren't given full permissions by default. If you've ever spend minutes (ok, or hours) wondering why the heck the module you just installed didn't give you any settings options before realizing that you had to go give yourself permission for it, this is the module for you. Must have on any Drupal site for me!
